Lee trained in Nottingham and Bristol and worked in London and the Midlands as a portrait artist from 1978 till 1984. Following a successful teaching career, in 2007 he took a sabbatical to develop his art in new directions. Whilst continuing portrait art – both people and animals – over the past four years he has developed a unique new style, combining traditional landscapes and townscapes with surreal forms
