A lot of my original art at the moment is heavily textured giving each piece an almost 3D appearance. It makes you want to reach out and touch the pictures. The texture is applied either to the background before it is painted or once it is completed to the image on top. Sometimes I will just use one colour varying the shades and tones to give the picture contrast. Also by adding a metallic light reflecting colour to a piece catches the eye and changes its appearance in different lights
